"Tghid Veru?" is a programme that blends mystery with entertainment. Vanni Pule`, the master of deception, has presented some very baffling illusions on a small scale right under people's noses and others on a very large scale. Some of these were totally innovative stunts performed in various locations outside the studio. He drove a BMW totally blindfolded, levitated a girl with no backdrops in Hagar Qim Temples, transported Debbie Scerri magically from Malta to Gozo, changed a small toy car to a real Mercedes SLK 230 vanished the Island of Filfla, vanished a group of bagpipe players and performed an unbelievable death-defying escape where a car was dropped by a crane onto a trunk while he was struggling to escape. In the Studio he was joined by his co-presenter Debbie Scerri, Malta's ambassador to the Eurovision, and by the glamour of the Alison White Dancers for some spectacular moments of Magic Movement and Music. Various guest performers from Malta and from overseas have contributed to the mystery and entertainment. Among them was the zany comedy Magician Neal Austen from England, twice winner of the Parlour Magician of the Year at The Academy of MagicalArts in Hollywood, Tom Ogden from Los Angeles and Duo Karina with their acrobacy and contortions from Bulgaria. From Malta he hosted Chris Gove` with his ace dice-stacking routines, Lorenzo with his table of death and Noel D'Amato with his colourful mysteries. The serious part involved a short discussion with experts and people who claim unusual powers and others who have experienced mysterious phenomena. This discussion together with some experiments helped give a light rational outlook on claims of the Paranormal. The televiewers were challenged to solve a mystery and participate in a prize-winning competition. Ray Farrugia and his team have prepared a very unique and artistic set design. Joe Scicluna is the Television Director. |
