Since he made his debut on Television in 1966, Vanni Pule` has perhaps garnered the record of the greatest number of appearances and the most
varied array of effects on the small screen. His tricks have varied from
small items to grand illusion. He has appeared in variety shows, quiz
shows, chat shows and his own productions. His first very own production
was in the early 70s ("Tghid Veru?") and then in the late 70s ("Collage").
In 1986/1987 he appeared weekly for nine whole months in peak viewing time
on Saturday evening ("Sibtijiet Flimkien") and scored notoriously with his
prediction of the lotto draw. In this spot he also introduced interactive
magic with viewers through phone-ins. The longest running series in which
he appeared was the Broadcasting Authority Award Winner "Owkej" which is now
in its fifth consecutive year. "Tghid Veru?" (Can it Be True?) was his
latest production placing very highly in the viewer ratings. He hosted the
programme together with International recording vocalist Debbie Scerri. |
